Alexandra Alferiev

Associate

Alex is an associate lawyer at Maleki Liew LLP. Her practice covers all areas of family law including issues such as parenting, division of property, as well as child and spousal support. Alex has a diverse background in litigation and dispute resolution which she leverages in her family law practice.

Before joining Maleki Liew LLP, Alex worked at a leading national law firm where she gained experience across a wide range of litigation matters. She continues to engage in client-centered advocacy to resolve complex legal issues.

Alex is a graduate of Western Law, where she participated in a variety of advocacy competitions. She was a finalist in the Lerners FYAC Moot in her first year; and, the following year, she competed in the Davies Corporate Securities Law Moot where her team placed in the top five receiving an award for their written materials.

During her time at Western, Alex also served as a caseworker for Community Legal Services and a research assistant to Professor Michael Link in his role as UN Special Rapporteur, focusing on the issue of collective punishment.

Prior to law school, Alex studied political science at the University of Toronto, graduating with high distinction.
